Diese Performances sind eine Reaktion auf Gentrifizierungsprozesse im ehemaligen Ostteil Berlins.
Ehemalige Brachen der Stadtmitte wurden nach 1989 privatisiert und anschließend von Investoren als attraktive Eigenheime beworben. Sogenannte Urban Villages und Artist Villages vesprachen potentiellen Käufern Teilhabe am alternativen und kreativen Lifestyle Berlins und boten gleichzeitig ein abgeschottes Wohnidyll, in dem die Käuferschicht unter sich bleibt, ohne den aufregenden Charme der Umgebung missen zu müssen.

These performances are a reaction to the gentrification processes in the former east part of Berlin.
Land, that was common ground before, has been privatzed after 1989. New condos were built by investors and got promoted as attractive property. So-called urban villages and artist villages called potential buyers that were looking for a creative and alternative lifestyle in a save architecture. These constructions created living situations in which the new class of citizans could be among their own, while enjoying the feeling of being part of an exciting neighborhood.
